If you don&#8217;t have access to a quality locally made turkey sausage, give turkey kielbasa a try.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: 45 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<address>1 large onion \u2013 chopped<\/address>\n<address>1 small head cabbage \u2013 chopped<\/address>\n<address>1 medium turnip \u2013 cubed to \u00bd\u201d<\/address>\n<address>6 cups chicken stock<\/address>\n<address>2 teaspoons dried thyme<\/address>\n<address>\u00bc teaspoon freshly ground black pepper<\/address>\n<address>2 bay leaves<\/address>\n<address>1 teaspoon kosher salt<\/address>\n<address>1 pound smoked turkey sausage \u2013 cubed or sliced<\/address>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place a large pot on medium-high heat then add the onion, stirring occasionally for five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add all other ingredients with the exception of sausage to the pot and turn heat to high. Reduce temperature to maintain a simmer and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for twenty minutes.<\/p>\n<p>While the soup is simmering, preheat a frying pan on medium-high then add the sausage, stirring occasionally until browned.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the sausage from heat and add to the soup for the final two minutes of the soup\u2019s cooking time.
