I tried that the first time. No dice. Even following the recipe, you may want to simmer the mushrooms for another ten minutes after slicing if you prefer them softer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: 30 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>80g dried shiitake mushrooms<br \/>\n1.5 litres cold water<br \/>\n20g garlic &#8211; roughly chopped<br \/>\n10g ginger &#8211; roughly chopped<br \/>\n6g kosher salt<br \/>\nFew grinds black pepper<br \/>\n4 green onions &#8211; sliced<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place mushrooms and water in a pot. Cover overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Add garlic, ginger, salt and pepper. Place on high heat until a boil is reached. Reduce to simmer for twenty minutes.
