If you&#8217;d like to add sugar, try starting with an amount equal to the salt. Adjust the other flavours to your liking or add your own. This recipe is just to get you started.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: 15 minutes plus overnight brining<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: 8 as a side<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>300ml water<br \/>\n200ml white vinegar<br \/>\n15g pickling salt<br \/>\n5g whole yellow mustard seed<br \/>\n2g whole black peppercorns<br \/>\n1g red pepper flakes<br \/>\n4 cloves garlic &#8211; sliced<br \/>\n1 stalk dill<br \/>\n500g small cucumbers &#8211; quartered<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine the water, vinegar, salt, mustard, peppercorns and pepper flakes in a small pot. Place on high heat and bring to a boil.
