The cooking times are short and if you&#8217;re trying to cut things while you cook, you&#8217;ll either overcook the food or hurt yourself.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like a thicker sauce and are familiar with using xanthan gum, sprinkle a little in about a minute before the cooking is finished. You could also use corn starch, though it doesn&#8217;t fit the no-grains theme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: 20 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup hoisin sauce<br \/>\n3 tablespoons dry sherry<br \/>\n2 tablespoons soy sauce<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic &#8211; finely chopped or grated<br \/>\n2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger<br \/>\n4 shallots &#8211; sliced<br \/>\n1 pound beef sirloin &#8211; thinly sliced across the grain<br \/>\n1 tablespoon grapeseed oil or other neutral tasting oil<br \/>\n1 pound fresh mushrooms &#8211; sliced<br \/>\n1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil<br \/>\n6 green onions \u2013 greens only \u2013 bias cut<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place a heavy wok on high heat.<\/p>\n<p>In a bowl, stir together the hoisin, sherry, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and shallots. Toss the beef in the marinade.<\/p>\n<p>Add the grapeseed oil to the wok and when it just starts smoking, add the beef mixture, stir frying for one minute.<\/p>\n<p>Add the mushrooms to the wok and stir fry for two additional minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the wok from heat.
