It&#8217;s just oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. The key is the cold-pressed canola. Its rich, nutty flavour is absolutely nothing like the hexane-extracted stuff you find on sale at the grocery store. I picked mine up at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vitahealthstores.ca\" target=\"_blank\">Vita Health Fresh Market<\/a>, though I&#8217;m sure there are plenty of other sources for this tasty treat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: 20 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<address>\u00bd cup walnut pieces<\/address>\n<address>2 teaspoons white wine vinegar<\/address>\n<address>\u00bc teaspoon kosher salt<\/address>\n<address>2 tablespoons cold-pressed canola oil<\/address>\n<address>\u00bc teaspoon fresh ground black pepper<\/address>\n<address>5 ounces spring mix<\/address>\n<address>\u00bd white onion \u2013 finely sliced<\/address>\n<address>1 avocado \u2013 pitted and cubed<\/address>\n<address>\u00a0<\/address>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat a small pan on medium-high and add the walnuts, stirring often for five minutes or until just toasted.<\/p>\n<p>In a small bowl, mix the vinegar, salt and pepper.
